WHO WE ARE & WHY WE CARE
Hey! My name is Rena and I am a Journalism and Spanish student at the University of Nevada, Reno. As the account executive of SpeakSafe, I want to help others in the aftermath of an assault. As a survivor myself, I understand the feelings of loneliness and pain that follow after an event such as this and want to help others know that they can confide in me.
Director of Outreach
"I am passionate about this topic because I know people and have friends who went through this process. You can confide in me and can always reach out to me. I am not a survivor so I don’t know first hand what you’ve gone through, but I’m always here to listen."
"I am passionate about this topic since I am a survivor myself. After the assault, I was overwhelmed with what to do and had to do all the research all myself. I hope with this campaign the stress of choosing a path as a survivor is lessened. I am here to listen and relate to others who have also experienced this trauma. You can confide in me."
My name is Jennifer Scriver, and I am a Journalism student at the University of Nevada Reno. I have a passion for hearing people’s stories, and for being an active listener. Inspired by the women closest to me, I’ve become an active listener and supporter for sexual assault survivors. I am not a survivor, but I am an ally. You can confide in me.
Director of Operations
"Our campaign is very important to me. sexual assault is a very large problem and some of my friends have become victims of it. It is something we need our community to come together on and help tackle this issue."
ANNA WALSH LIPPARELLI
